Who built this roadster?

I know the guy has, or had, a shop in the L.A. area and I talked to him at the Roadster show 3 or 4 years ago when he had this straight 8 powered car and some others on display and I even remember going on his web site but I'll be damned if I can remember who he is. Someone here must know him. I think he builds bikes too if that helps jog a memory.
