We had an informal " 62 Impalas with Cragar S/S wheels" meet this summer ....my autumn golden coupe on 14"s and my friend Manu´s black 4dr hdtp on 15"s... btw the handsome guy in the hawaii shirt and shorts having a drink is me. PWDA4156.jpg

Thanks for posting that info. The Barracuda I inherited last year is still wearing some. My uncle put the wheels on in '66, not sure about the Goodyears as originally he ran red stripes.

Well, looks like I'm the only one who isn't a fan. EVERY car around southern WI had them (or aluminum slots - yuck) in the 70s. I was always a chrome reverse lover. Yet, I did have them on my Chevy powered '70 Javelin. Because they were the only used 10" wide ones I could find. So, I bought some cheap 6" copies for the front to match.

I remember the G/T’s, a lot of them came with flat black centers. Here is an early version S/S that came with a polished center, rather than the chrome center: 6D7F1A28-16C0-48F2-9B1D-28D4E83DDC4E.jpeg

Those 58 to 66 Pontiacs look so much better without all the glitter. That chrome and pot metal covers up that beautiful body lines..

back when Cragars were the big thing I preferred slotted mags. I later evolved to American Torque Thrusts as my favorite wheel. all these cars look good with Cragars, most would look better with Torque Thrusts in my book.:)

15" Cragar Grand Prix wheels, got this pair at Jefferson swap meet and run them on the back of the 48 Ford with 14" E.T.s in the front . I change back and forth with a steel set of black wheels with dog dish caps on this car .
