We painted the firewall white and wheels red with w.w. tires primer spots on the nose and deck spots then we were "cool" I painted the wheels red in the seventy's and no one understood.

I'm going to be painting the firewall on my 34 tudor PPG vanilla shake. I was wondering where the cut off should be. The under side is black spray on bed liner. I am running a hood with sides and I'm not sure how much you will actually see. Not the best picture but you can kinda see where I ended it at the toe boards and mid trans tunnel.

Is this the photo, or is it a pale yellow? If it is, I really like it, it works really good with the red.

Don't agree with this either, its like anything else, case by case basis for me. Some cars its right, some not so much.

I wanna see more of your '40 convert! '56 Starfire caps are so right on '39/'40's.

I kinda realized that after I saw the other photos. Its an interesting accident, I never would have thought to paint the engine and firewall in a dark red car pale yellow, but judging by that photo, it would actually work pretty good.

So this is '56 Ford Diamond Blue, right? Ford had some REALLY great hot rod colours in '55/'56.

They call this one Waterfall Blue. It was listed as a Ford commercial truck color. I did see the same paint codes used for several cars of different brands during that era though.

That's an absolutely gorgeous combination in the engine compartment of the '40. I can't tell whether the alternator is light blue or that's a reflection. Anyway, this one makes a lot of pretty engines suddenly seem boring.

Thanks Big Plan Dan! Now all I have to do is keep it clean...... Oh, the alternator is chromed. The hood underside is body color so the blue must be a reflection.

  22. A shot of mine from last week, needed to wash the whole engine compartment down, it was a mess.
