these cars make far better customs than hot rods in my opinion... that custom convert posted a few pages back is a beautiful example....build your car just like that and you won't be able to get near it for the crowds of people flocking to it...

  3. Thanks Moriarity, after I decided to see what difference the slanted pillars could make I knew this is what I had been looking for all along.

I would say no on the slanted B posts. A lot of work for a little change in appearance, not to mention messing with the quarter window mechanism.

  5. I'm looking forward to that part of the project, if I wanted easy I would have bought a Model Car.

Elden Titus was fond of the leaning pillar. It worked particularly well on the "Crimson Skull" Sedanette.

You might find Sam Foose' leaning-pillar Forty interesting.
(He also took a little out of the back. ;))

Leaning the B pillar makes it look like a GM car. Not my favorite look on a Ford.....

  10. Pic #1 for me, maybe #1 with the green. Taildragger look just doesn't look right for some reason.

  11. Leave the "B" pillar alone, do the stance and custom work, nosed decked, shaved door handles and remove the very top big ugly grill bar, move the stock taillights down about 4 inches, get the stance like the black convertible picture and 55 Dodge hubcaps and you'll be set. JW

  12. Sam's '40 is a perfect example of a mild custom to me, hadn't considered taking some of the height out of the rear section of the roof, new thing to consider. Thanks. BigO

Good news on the cancer, keep on healing and building. I am convinced that people who stop doing what they love hasten their end.

I'm totally into customs, individuality, and off-the-wall sh*t.
BUT...if I owned the car below, exhaust tone would be my only concern. (Same for the club coupe.)

The "BEST" is often the enemy of the "Good"! ;)
