Art & Inspiration Which version of my '47 Ford do you like? ONE MORE CHANGE

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BigO, Dec 8, 2019.

  1. OK folks, thanks to TheMoose and Madfish I've been narrowing down the final look for my '47, Hot Rod or Mild Custom 40s look, the problem now is that I like both styles so the floor is now open to opinions and suggestions from the Worlds Best Traditional Car people, the last one is how it looks now. Thanks in advance, BigO

#4 (dark blue) is my favorite.

Hi @BigO...I like both Customs and Hotrods but in this case I'm thinking the 2nd Hotrod version with Steelies and Spiders...

Now that said how about the same theme but with Chrome Reverse with or without the Spiders might better resonate early 60s.

Without a doubt, #2, with #3 a close second. I dig the green but not the skirts.

  7. I'm #2 & #1, in that order. I'm not fond of skirts...on a car.... Stogy's idea will work as well. No 5 spoke Americans?

Put me down for version #1, but with 5 spoke American Mags.

  12. I definitely like the hot rod stance in black.

so, do you see yourself as a aggressive Hot Rod type, or kicked back just enjoying the ride guy? I like the last pic, as it is now.

  15. First pic!

  16. That's part of the problem, I've had both styles and enjoyed both, this may be my last build.

They're all nice...but personally I would say blue, maroon, green, black. They're all very close though.

  21. You're just gonna have to pick a color and buy multiple sets of wheels!
Skirts, too. Tough looking car as a hot rod.

For me it would be very hard to improve on Picture #1, all though I do really like the blackwalls and the steele wheels with the Spyders. Glad its your choice and not mine.

  24. I like the top one the most. The brighter rims seem to balance the look of the car. Chrome reverse rims would look even more traditional.

I'll take #6 for a $100 Sam. The rest are ok but it's the last one for me.....

The last one for me as well. That's the heart & soul of that car.

  28. I gotta tell ya, I think the last pic with the way it looks now looks the best. But I am a hater of skirts on anything earlier than the early 50s.
The first pic would be my second choice, but maybe with torque thrusts.

For shiny, I like picture 1. I would drive picture 4 in a heartbeat.
