In 1962 my ride was a crib, and not an MTV "crib", but one of those banned white ones with the prison slat sides that they now claim are death traps, probably living dangerously by sleeping on my stomach or side.

Life was great then, every night I slept like a baby... literally

I apologize for my silliness, this is indeed a cool thread...

 

I was -20 years old....

 

Where was I in '62? Not sure. Where was my mom? In the delivery room. (Being born) Where is my mind and my car? Still in '62.

 

I was aboard the Helena-CA 75 and Saint Paul CA 73. The other all gun on the East Coast was Newport News made up the last 3 in commission at that time.

 

Summer of 62 spent Sundays at the Terre Haute Indiana drag strip in H Gas 29 Ford sedan,Buick floor shift tranny, 286 flathead, Edelbrock heads and intake, Mallory ign. and a Dunn cam, which was an old grinder in Detriot. We didn,t go very fast but , them were the good old days. Due to an accident the strip was only one fifth of a mile.

 

First grade. Trying to avoid getting my ass kicked by the most highly trained human weapon ever conceived by the Almighty.........

 

First grade also in Tulsa Oklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plains! Lived three blocks off Route 66, blissfully unaware of its significance!
