Anybody know who sells exhaust pipe that is belled / flaired on one end? All I can find online is chrome exhaust tips and I need some not chromed already or some lengths of pipe that is belled on one end. I used the serarch funtion here and only found a couple of really old threads with links that are no good anymore.
go to a muffler shop and ask them to make you a piece....i worked at a muffler shop and always had guys needing a piece made so they could get the car running enough to get it to my shop.
It seems like Chris Casny was selling belled exhaust pipes/tips at one time. Also, have you already checked with your local exhaust shop? Some factory exhaust connections are like a belled/flaired end, or "ball and socket" type. Malcolm **edit** looks like bulletproof1 beat me to it
Yep, Chris had them up. I think he and Sandy may still be doing some of this or have plans to, depending on demand. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=313562&highlight=exhaust+tips
I had a muffler shop expand the ends of these pipes and I cut it off about half way through the expansion.
They are nice, the price was good and I received them pretty quickly. If anybody needs them I would recommend Chris for sure.
i got a bender with a 5 in swedge and could bring the tip around so it was completely rolled over on about 3 1/2 in tube, made the die for something else, and was surprised that i could put a complete roll with it dont need it anymore so it getting sold on K Bid next week
I sometimes flair exhaust pipe by heating the end of the pipe and force it over a hitch ball with a block of wood and a large hammer. Depending on the pipe and ball size it works quite well.
I did this playing around out in the shop at work, was thinking about putting some on my wagon. easy to do, I made this out of plain steel. mabe some out of stainless too that worked pretty well..
