Carnival Around the World buffet at The Rio...by far one of the best buffets you'll ever have.

Sam's Town Casino/hotel, Billy Bobs, steakhouse. behind the waterfall..... try the "drunken top steak," or at least that is what they used to call it, if you like steak and mushroom sauces marinated with Jim Beam. man, it melts in your mouth, They bring it to the table still sizzling....

Also, if you can get to Gordon Biersch make sure you have the hefeweizen and the Marzen Burger with the garlic fries.....killer taste combo and addicting.

Hit "hash house a go go" at imperial palace then go upstairs to the car exhibit. Hash house is really good and a face stuffer. Car show is decent too.

  7. i personally hate buffets, but i must admit that the deal at the Rio is insane. its more like the food court at the mall of america than a buffet. it is HUGE. it used to cost around 21 bucks and i guess its not all that bad if you can eat that much (i cant). i can say that the food quality was pretty good.

there used to be a pretty good place at the orleans. cant remember the name, but better than average menu.

i usually stick to outback steakhouse. consistency.

also look for mickey finnz on fremont street (there's one in redondo also). its a Hennessey's restaurant and Tiki Diablo did a bunch of work on it

Forget the Rio. It's a hasbeen. Try the buffet at SouthPoint. Try breakfast at WhiteCross Drug store. Try a shrimp cocktail or a sandwich at the Goldengate downtown.

I was in Vegas 2 years ago and I did notice it wasn't as good as it was 4 years ago, but I figured it was an off night. The food is good and there's a lot to choose from, but I'll need to try these other places next time I'm there.

For a great breakfast you need to get away from the hotels and hit up Blueberry hill diner in the north part of town, on nellis and craig across from the Air force base. it is a must. Good luck Doug
