Hey guys, I was thinking I never see any voltage regulators, well, not that I can remember.
Where do you run your regulators on a open hooded car ?
    Thanks ...

    Firewall...;)

  11. My regulator sits in the passenger seat, beside me. Sometimes she lets me pick where we're going out to eat. :p ;)

  12. Mine is inside, on the right side kick panel, up high along with the fuse panel. I just wanted a clean firewall with no wires to be seen.

Mounted my regulator and coil inside the passenger compartment on the firewall. Makes the visible part of the firewall look nice and clean and uncluttered.

    Since you asked ...

I'm in the process of putting everything, including my half-size battery, voltage regulator, battery cutoff switch, starter relay, ignition switch, light switch - everything but gauges and horn button - in the seat-riser compartment in my '28 RPU.

I'd put the coil there, too, but I don't think it can be located that far from my flathead.

Do NOT hide your regulator unless you are a contortionist. Eventually you will need to polarize it, and if it's up under the dashboard on the wiring panel, God help you reach it! I did that on my last build and will NEVER do it again. Put it out on the firewall where Henry Ford intended it to be.

  24. You'll never need to polarize a regulator. It's the generator that may need it.
