Here's some pics, I know they suck as it's buried under a resto project. It will be delivered next weekend. Pretty excited. This is a project that will include lots of study, not to be rushed into.
It's a wing tip tank, not a belly. Would have been on the end of a wing. Probably from a 60's jet. Try looking at pictures online.
I'm guessing it's a wing tip tank as well. Good sized tank-had to have been a big plane. Is there an expert on these things we can contact for identification?
I guess I am so excited about it I just wanna talk about it. It doesn't mean jack where it came from. Thanks for the info guys.
My partner in crime's original plans was to run a jimmy six. I only know I want to build it as versatile in the powerplant dept as possible to take advantage of good deals on HP or soft records. I have some quality local connections in the tech inspection dept, that is a HUGE bonus. That way there are no surprises. I don't know shit about land speed cars quite honestly. I am counting on my buddy, my fab skills, and plain old hard work to get er done.
One great thing about salt racing is the pioneering spirit is alive and flourishing .heres a good link to a home built tank ( actually look like ski plane pods to me...) and some great ideas for building on a real budget. http://purplesagetradingpost.com/sumner/bvillecar/bvillecarindexpage.html
