**Where are all the 37-38 Chevy truck pics?!**

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BadLuck, Aug 19, 2011.

  1. I completely agree 1937 and 1938 chevy pickups must be pretty rare. I have had a difficult time locating parts for my 38 as well as inspirational builds. Seems like there is a crowd who likes to restore them to original or build as techno billet rods. To each their own. Thanks to all who have posted and I will start a build thread on my 38 Chevy pickup soon.

My Son and I located an old 37 Chevy Custom Kingcab Truck I designed and built in the 90's. I drove from New York to Michigan many times for the Woodward Dream Cruises. It even ended up on Google Maps one year when they mapped Woodward Blvd. My Son in Michigan now owns the truck. Yesterday he started driving it to work at the GM Proving Grounds and finishing off his day with a Cruise Night in Holly Mi. His turn now to enjoy the truck and to freshen it up with any changes he wants to make. Maybe it will finally get a paint job that I never seemed to get around to doing.

I have shortened the frame to the same wheel base as a 1/2 short bed pickup. Notched chassis, 8.8 explorer posi, 1947-55 1st series axle that is dropped 4", reversed eye main leaves in front, using 40 ford steering box for cross steering. All steel truck rear fenders as well.
