I like what you are doing keep going love the profile..

just a thought, I've seen 70's cadillac frames under 40's buicks and they have big brakes and coils all the way arround, also a cleaner kickup in the rear than the s10.. just trying to save you some work if the buick floor was still there.....

It's gonna be a little narrower than the stock 1940 Buick because I'm using the 39 Chevy front. I still plan on going S10 mainly because I already have it which makes it cheaper than trying to find a 70s Cadillac.
Thanks for the thought, I can always use new ideas to make things better

Man thats just nuts, I love it.

    Q. can you run the belt line up at the door and let it become the drip rail? that would be wicked custom. then you wouldnt need and more detail on the doors.

    Just an idea

I'll play around with that idea but I do think either way that I should bring the beltline into the door so the door looks like it belongs to the car

I'd love to be there when you roll this car in for the first time... It would be fun to watch the people freak out. Get ready to answer ALOT of questions.

Great job so far and the concept looks great. Keep it up.

This is a pretty sweet build. I love watching builds like this.. Different body, mismatched doors, fenders, etc, and making them all fit together. This reminds me of Hollywood Hot Rods' build.

Waiting to see how this one turns out.

Well I looked at the car and I think that might be a good idea. I'll have to make the beltline larger to make it work but I really like this idea

This is really amazing, sorry I'm chiming in late. What you've done scares the hell out of me and inspires me at the same time! Whats the plan for all the trunk space?

The reason I mentioned it was because you could keep the front body line that already continues onto the doors, and add it to the rear of the car and follow the curve of the trunk, then take the belt line and roll it up above the doors you would have 1 body line and 1 roof line, it would give the impression of a removable top ( one piece ) and a natural break for a 2 tone paint job.
Please forgive my photoshop job its sux, I took the liberty of extending the chrome accents on the front back to the cowl area made it alittle longer.

I like the crafstmanship and ingenuity... my recomendation would be to loose 1.5 inch or even 2 inches right behing the door/b-pillar on each side and 2 inches in the roof (lengthwise). Then it looks like the door curvature would follow the roof line. Cool though!

  23. pretty much my thoughts.... the thing looks fuckin killer as is though...

Okay, I've counted a flux-core welder, a sawsall, a chop saw, an air compressor, and a small toolbox.
I'm assuming the English wheel, bead roller, shrinker/stretcher, and plannishing hammer is in the small toolbox.
And no doubt George Thorogood's playing on the stereo. Wow.

Just like rustednutz said, it looks like some of the deco styled cars you see in the old comics from the 40's.

I was going for a business coupe. I know I'll have the gas tank, spare tire, and battery back there I guess the rest of the trunk space is for tools and luggage. I was hoping to drive this the length of route 66 some day.

I was thinking about your idea and I think I'm going to do something like the 35-36 Fords

That's an amazing car, I love the beltline treatment that's what I imagined it would get wider to make the curve up above the door, that bodyline that becomes the trunk is incredable, My limited skills, limit my imagination thank goodness.
