Just curious if anyone is runnning this combo anymore. 15" rear, 14" fronts. If so, what size tires? Pictures encouraged
sure. depends on whether you want radials or bias ply. I am guessing you are going for a certain stance. Fenders or no?
I am just looking to see if anyone is still running this combo... you used to see ALOT of 15's and 14's... but havnt in a while.
I ran my roadster for a long time with 14 x 5.5 (P175/75R14) on the front, 15 x 8.5 (P285/70R15)on the rear. I think the 15/16 combo on there now is a little better, but the old setup wasn't bad....
the blue car in these pictures had 14 X 6 front wheels with 175/75R14's, the rears are 15 X 7 with 225/75R15..wheels are American Outlaw. the white pickup had the same size rims and tires...wheels are tru-spoke pay no attention to the red car
This is very easy to get wrong. The great danger is that the front sidewalls start becoming too big in relation to the rim. It's important to make sure the proportion of sidewall to rim is at least the same front and rear, or that the rear sidewalls are proportionally bigger than the fronts. Pat's pulled it off here: the front sidewalls are 41% of the front rim diameter, the rear sidewalls are 43% of the rear rim diameter. Even so the front rims narrowly miss looking too small for the wheel arches, or causing the front end to look higher than it is. Cool Stude, Pat.
Ok, Here ya go, I wouldn't have anything else cause I love the classic look, had the same set up on my 68 Chevelle, only those were Cragers. Carrie
14x7 front and 15x8.5 Enkie 32's front and rear with 195x60x14 and 255x60x15 tires. Wheels aren't Hamb friendly but predate the Hamb by lots of years. For the stance although the wheels were the hotlick at the time I bought them. I can't find a decent photo as most of the good ones are prints and my scanner is arguing with the laptop. <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
radials with "shaved" white walls....i dont remember the tire size....it ended up getting ground off.
The truck has 15x7 rears with 235 70b15 and 14x7 fronts with 205 70b14. I had to buy new front wheels but the only reason I kept the 14" fronts is because the tires that came with the truck still had a lot of tread on them. My coupe has 15x8 with 255 70r15 and 14x6 with 195 70r14. I was pretty much given these wheels, tires, caps and rings, so I'm not complaining. I think they look better on fendered cars than on fenderless cars. Dave
Mike, ford made a 14" version of the Lincoln wheel if you were wondering - I think it was for Granadas or the Mercury variant (can't recall what it's named). They would be 5 on 4.5" though. Steve
