Hey everyone, I've been searching threads and have yet to come up with a reputable source to bring the wheels on my Dad and myselves father son project back to snuff. We've got some magnesium torque thrust wheels that were on his gasser from the sixties and are looking for someone in the Central Valley (CA) to bring them back to looking like new. Theres lots of family history with this car and we've finally got the ball rolling on getting it back on the street and strip. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks! Chop
I've never messed with magnesium, but would glass beads or walnut shell blasting media work? Then a shot of Gibbs oil maybe? Someone with experience will chime in soon I reckon.
Some people have them shot peaned and then spray them with Gibbs or WD40 and then you can polish them if you want that look. It depends on the condition of the wheels and if they aren't too pitted to be used.
