I met a fellow a couple of yrs ago that has a '37 club coupe and was running these wheels/caps and they intrigued me because he modified the caps to fit a 15 inch wheel. I ran into him again at the shades of the past show and his car was for sale..he was running mags at this time, I bought the other caps and rings/tires and now thinking of color options...anyone here can help me out with photoshop ideas? the wheels are almond color..the safest bet would be go with cream or tan...but I want to do something a little different. would nonmetallic copper, etc would look good?
So, are you saying that you bought the car as well as the extra wheels and tires? The ones that you pictured look darn good to me as they are.
just bought the wheels/caps/tires. he was selling the car with mags. ..I liked these because they are the original caps modified to fit 15 inch wheels. I have merc caps and rings on the car now..I want something a little different.
You're confusing me (that's not difficult). Is the car in your avatar photo yours or his? If it's not yours, what are you putting these wheels on?
that is my '37...sorry to confuse you, lol. I met a guy that had this set of wheels and caps...I bought them and now thinking of different paint options for this set of wheels.
I'm a sucker for red wheels although I see a lot of push-back about them of late. I also don't see much difference between almond, tan and/or creme but maybe that's just me. If I were to offer up some advice, I would go with almond. Nice looking wheels and tires already. Here's my '46 Merc caps with ribbed trim rings on my Roadster.
I understand completely. I had red wheels on my '40 for years but, just changed to black with small caps and no trim rings. Got to change up things now and then to stay fresh.
Hey you got them...take a few minutes and put them on, at least one side, and show us a photo. The cream may look nice with the red as a two-tone deal.... at least you could them put a side view on the photoshop thread and ask Moose for some changes but it would be tough to paint over pinstripped wheels.
thanks guys. these new caps are a maroon color. I will see what they look like on the car but I want these wheels to have a different flare than my worn out red wheels and merc caps
What color is the upholstery? Could you coordinate a color from inside? Too many colors on a car just makes it look like there was a sale on mis-mixed paint at the store.
