It kills me to say this, but given the fact that I've been "Blue Oval" for 5+ decades, I'd have to say the prettiest V8 (all decked out) would be a nailhead. I've never built one, they never had an automatic worth a D___ behind them, but there're still the prettiest. I'm working on a fat fender 48 DeSoto with a 440/727 now, so what the H___ do I know?

  3. Early Holden. I'd love a Repco Hemi head for one. Gotta be time for a re-pop!

DITTO bubba67 nothing is more cool than an ARDUN. Even in the day they were the coolest

  8. When I was about 15 I was given an old 55 cad motor with three Strombergs on an edelbrock manifold and passed on it. stupid kid thought it was a boat anchor. I was more interested in the 65 mustang that I had.So now that`s what I would want instead of my Flathead. Pete.

That's a tough one, but if I had to pick just one, it would be the ford 289 "k" engine. I can still remember the surprised looks on some big block drivers faces when my little '63 f100 left them behind at the starting line :D

I'm with Big Jake Yblock of anytype by Ford with a sweet set of Porter mufflers on it to set the tone.

I'd defiantly have to say the FE series is my favorite. Especially with some mechanical injection. But I also have a soft spot for the MEL's & nailheads, and would love a W head for my chevy.

  20. The Merlin makes some sweet music:)

  21. Nailhead, for sure.

427 FORD "CAMMER" I wish I wish I bought my buddies 10 years when I had some money. Complete, original, and never taken apart, it even had the carburetor tags on it.

I hope that the D-500 didn't have the original dual-quad hemi in it when you got it.
