I regret being unable to be there this year, but this is the best looking roadster I have seen posted here from the show. I

If you spent an hour looking at it, it must be built as good as it looks. This one oughta please both "sides" of the "big divide". Coulda been built in '49 or '09.

  5. Really? Do you go to Burger King for Pizza? Do you go to Home Depot to buy a suit? I go to the HAMB for Traditional Rods and Customs! Maybe that should be a rule or something! OH YEAH....it is!!!!

    :)

I like seeing most of the cars shown. I am 2500 miles away and cannot be there this year ... SO ... I can appreciate someone posting what THEY saw ... and letting me pick and choose which ones I really want to look at closely. :D

I only really LOOK AT maybe 20 percent of the vehicles posted ... but at least I got to pick and choose. Not everyone wants to look at a bunch of chopped Mercurys, overdone roadsters and primered up shoeboxes  Just because I am not into a certain type of vehicle ... does not mean I cannot appreciate the work, time and money the owner has spent getting his/or her vision of the perfect ride ready.

    Just my nickel

  8. Is that Batman,Catman,Batcat,Toons,or what,LOL!!!!!

  9. I agree! Chopped Mercs SUCK!!!!!

  10. I'm planning to go to World of Wheels (Chicago) tomorrow, I'll try to separate the pictures I don't want Bob to stroke out or anything. :)

Not really ... but I do like looking at cars other than 1932 Fords ( I have two ) ... a bunch of Mercurys ( had a 49 coupe :) ) , 40 Fords ( had them also ) and 40/41 Willys coupes ( want one real bad )

Too bad it is raining out there ... The outside cars actually were more interesting to me than MOST of the cars/motorcycles in the buildings.

  12. You're such a good friend...I'll make sure to take my medicine!

  13. Don't we all!!!!! Everytime I see Kiwi Kev's buddy's Willys,I shit myself!!!!

Part of the problem is that we are a smaller segment of the HOT ROD hobby than we care to admit.

    Help spread the gospel.

    More pic's like this please.

For those that disagree with Bad Bob, you've evidently forgotten what this site is supposed to be all about. There are plenty of forums on the web for all the other stuff. I agree with Bob, I can appreciate pretty much anything someone has built. It doesn't mean that it belongs here. This site has some fantastic mechanical intelligence and history. It also has way too much O/T crap. Below are the rules posted for this site. I hope we can get back to them soon.
Feel free to flame me as well. I have thick skin!
The HAMB is dedicated to spreading the gospel of traditional hot rods and kustoms to hoodlums world wide. That’s right – TRADITIONAL. And we aren’t talking Beach Boys and poodle skirts here fellas. If you are into a-side 50’s pop, lawn chairs, ruler contests, and all things that make hot rodding warm and cozy then you might want to find another message board. If you aren’t sure what we mean by “traditional”, then you might think twice as well. If you’ve come here to set a rep, talk some shit, and make some fun then you had better turn around right now. We aren't patient.

Even if you have come here for all the right reasons, don’t expect posting to be easy. We don’t cater to new fellas unless they show a dedication to spreading this tradition of ours first. We welcome young, old, foreign and all – but our original members and our staff expect a certain level of respect and an effort to keep things true and on topic.

Maybe you are an old fart with a past. Maybe you are one of the guys that started this tradition we cherrish. We built this place for you and your posts mean the world to us. Hop on and introduce yourself. This is your board.

Still reading? Then you must be cut out for this, right? We recommend you read some more. Check out all the forums, develop an understanding for how things work around here, learn the “do’s” and “do not’s”… The key to a happy HAMB newbie is to understand the joint BEFORE you begin posting. You want to be happy don’t ya newbie?

We have very few written rules here on the HAMB and that’s the way we like it, but we won’t hesitate to dump disruptive posters, ego freaks, or shit talkers. We are all here to learn and teach - please keep your other perogatives on the sidelines.

    Rules:
    1. No profanity in subject lines
    2. No political/religious/racial posts
    3. No Porn.
    4. All personal information listed on this board is private and protected. The HAMB does not sell this information and you are not privy to use it for your own reasons. Test us on this one and we will bite.
    5. New Users must fill out thier profiles. Every bit that you can. Simply click on "User Cp" above and get to work.
    6. New users must introduce themselves in the intro forum.

    Guidelines:
    1. If in doubt, don’t post it
    2. Stay on-topic and relevant with your posts… OT posts aren’t generally appreciated by our membership.
    3. Gotta easy question? Try using the search function first.
    4. Your life here would probably be easier if you complete your profile and introduce yourself before jumping into the deep end...

  18. Again most of the OT pics are links to photobucket accounts. If you don't like whats there close the page and move on it is pretty simple. Other than Bob, who I know usually gives great show coverage, which of you guys complaining have taken the time to load a bunch of show pics and post? When you do and do a better job you have something to complain about.

Bob complain away you have definitely earned the right.:D

I fully understand what the HAMB is all about, but I don't mind looking at the other cars in the GNRS.............chances are I'll never see it in person, so photos are just fine with me

  20. I hate to sound like that, but when I can't make it to a show,I hope the cars that are shown on here are the style that I would have looked for if I was there. Shouldn't be too much to ask. HAMB friendly cars on the HAMB! What's so hard about that???

The pics I post are HAMB friendly. I've had plenty of opportunity to post other pics but I've always respected where I am.

i took pics too. i have to go back tomorrow evening to get that truck...which should be loads of fun..

  23. Most of the folks that post here can't make it to the roadster show and would like to see what was there other than one building that had "site appropriate" vehicles. I like cars, like you guys do, expensive, high end cars are no exception. I picked up some great ideas looking at the AMBR contestants. I got some great ideas looking at the Lil John Butera cars and the past AMBR winners. 9 buildings full of cars whose owners really care about. How can you complain about that?

  24. 9 buildings full of HAMB owners cars? Right...didn't think so! It's NOT about what's at the show. It's about what's posted here!

I'm with Bob on this. there has been way too many post lately that are off topic. Muscle cars, and late model stuff. I even get board with questions about SBC and automatic trans stuff.

Yes I can chose not to look at that stuff, but with the pace that the board moves at, who knows how many quality theads that I miss because some one posts a thread about how much oil does a SBC hold.

Even the clasifieds are over run with Newbies that are advertizing their ebay items.
Look in there now at how many sellers have less then 25 posts.
Rant over. I don't need your comments.
