Technical Whats the best/ safest way to remove this hood?

    I made a set similar for my 51 but just used a piece of 2" angle and welded plates on the ends - open on 2 sides makes it a lot easier to install. Once in place I put a couple of hose clamps around them and the spring to keep everything in plac

    If you have the nose open like you say, you can certainly pull the motor and tranny out without pulling the hood. Just prop the hood as high as you can and try pulling them. The engine just needs to come up enough to pass the mounts and then you pull it all forward. I would try it before I were to remove the hood. What do you have to loose? Like I said, I did it with my 52. There is no way these cars were designed to remove a hood every time a motor had to come out.
