I would not run that awesome engine with those junk valve spring retainers your looking for an expensive failure. 46 years building race engines tells me so.

 

1979 Chevrolet 400 small block 2 bolt main. 74,000 miles. Complete as pulled from vehicle.

 

Chevy,Short rod 383 fully ported heads

 

Thanks for letting me know. Much appreciated and I mean that sincerely. I bought the engine already rebuilt with these retainers. Never ran a hemi before. Which retainers would you suggest?

 

Chrome molly or Titanium .

632" BBC for my outlaw gasser came off a few months ago, now we have the small journal 327 waiting for it's turn. The 327 came out of my vette in favor of a 377". Currently it's only home is on the engine stand.

 

440 mopar bored and stroked to 496 .

 

I have a 330 DeSoto hemi on the stand that I partially rebuilt so far. I got distracted on other projects and haven't touched it in a couple of years.

 

1930-33 Dodge Straight Eight. Information is hard to come by but I have an instruction manual and have found some stuff online. Going to try to make it run eventually. If that works, it could be the start of a sweet little gow job.

 

24 stud Ford flathead on this one.

 

It’s in the car now but my 276” Flathead was it’s last visitor.

Currently under assembly..302 GMC

 

Lets see; a 454 taken to 468 CID short block, a bare 350 4 bolt main block, a bare 283 block ready to be assembled, and I'm about ready to bolt a TH-400 transmission to one to check it out before converting it to a switch pitch transmission. You fellas have some neat stuff going on!!! I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

My engine stand is empty except for a few spider webs.

 

My stage-10 KB water block and stage five heads. Everything is polished like a mirror. Due to the cold I moved it indoors to the family room for servicing. This allows me to file rings; polish; degree cam; fit bearings etc in comfort. My wife is cool with it.
