picked this up from my neighbor. he's 82 years old and says he can't remember where he got it. chrome side view mirror with built in spot light. the only markings i can see, say NuVue. was this factory, or an old accesorie item? figured someone on the mighty hamb would know.
think i seen one o them on a late fifties early sixties buick a few years back..... kinda doubt there stock though.
Here you go,... these seem way to pricey for me (of coarse I don't like em, and wouldn't buy em for $20 ,... but thats just me) http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/pts/477470173.html
hey, here we have plenty of em,yep..mexico city area...i hate those things but i always wondered WHY there are so many mounted in the local cars...i usually take them off ,ugly lookin... actually i never paid attention to the brand either...
Looks like ones used on cars from 1960. Ford comes to mind, they had a factory one that mounted thru the door.
In high school I worked in the Automotive Section in the local KMART, (FISK, when its time to Re-Tire) they were after market, and we sold the for 17.47, in a kit with wiring, and easy install instruction sheet. 15.96 on the Blue Light Special on Saturdays. They were also available through JC Whitney, Western Auto, Sears and Roebuck, and Montgomery Wards. They kinda suck at both functions. The spot lamp blb wasn't real good and the mirror wouldn't stay adjusted cause of the weight of the housing.
aftermarket 1960's, geez and my kid wants a set for his car have one can't find the other, add in some boat horns, horse decals, cowskin seat covers, ya got yourself a "clowncar" damn no pics of it on this computer, crap, tt
I recall a 59 ford new with two mounted on it but think its a dealer aftermarket item.I have one hanging on shop wall too ugly to put on anything but too neat to through out.
I've seen several mid-sixties Fords with them on. They were not controlled from inside the car. There is a handle on the back to move them. Not rare at all.
I'm looking for a nice pair of these, I think they would look good on my 1962 Pontiac Ambulance, if anyone can help, please PM me, Ross
