Alright guys, I am at a crossroads.....

    ASSUMING THE SAME PRICE:

    What would you rather have

THIS '32 Henry Ford Sedan car is relatively rust free. Has holes in the bottom of the cowl panels on both sides and the LH door. Otherwise no holes obvious. Car is complete with title.

    OR

    '32 Brookville roadster

Both would be traditionally built - I am talking late '40's style. Flattie, '39 trans, torque tube and banjo rear, fore/aft steer, etc. Y'all know what I mean.

Thanks for your opinions. I know in the end, me and my wallet will decide, but its nice to get some feedback first.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Either is cool, buts its what you want.

What suits you better - closed vs open, are you a super purest that has to have steel that Henry made, or are you a practical rodder who wants a hot rod no matter when it was made. Shit I bet the steel doesn't know when it was made!!!;)

That is a tough choice! the original sedan would be really cool but its not a roadster! I prefer roadsters so i would go with the brookville assuming you can get one since i heard there is a waiting list. If not an origional and traditional style sedan would be bad ass too!

  13. it also depends on how much time you want to spend on the body, either just a little bit of mud or lead...or patch panels, waves in the metal, tons and tons of metal work, etc...

first off, Henry steel is always better, especially as an investment.
But...these are two entirely different body styles.
Probably the most important thing of all to consider is your needs and your planned uses of the completed car.
    Do you have a family?
Do you live in a climate where a roadster could e enjoyed throughout the year?
What's cooler? Well, what's coolest is having a car that is functional for your lifestyle, climate and all around needs.
What's not cool, is having a roadster stuck in your garage because of cool weather, etc.
I see you are in Troy, Michigan? Michigan?

you may want to lean towards the sedan...and whats cool about that, is it's a real Ford product and although a Brookville body is a beautifully built body...it's never going to be a Henry...

  15. When it's cruising down the road who can tell when the body was stamped?
Which one will YOU have more fun with?

  16. I'd guess it depends on how many months out of the year you want to drive it, and how much "stuff" you need haul on your trips.

Build the sedan first, make it simple & reliable. Sell the family car & start the roadster!!!!!

    I'd rather have a Roadster.

People build sedans now and if you got a family there great but in every vintage pic I've seen the sedans were push cars and spectator vehicles, especially in the late '40's, I'm sure there were a few exceptions but Roadsters and Coupes ruled.

If you have access to the Henry 2 door and it's complete that's what I would suggest. Ford bodies are getting more and more scarce, you should always be able to get a Brookville. Go with the 2 door.

With what I read about what's happening in other states, I'd be nervous about any "kit car". JMHO

I was discussing this with a friend tonight, and I think it swung towards the Sedan. Of course, what I really want is a Coupe: now a Henry Ford 3-window is going to be out of my reach (I know, I looked!), so I guess the Brookville one would have to win there if it had to be a 3-window. But can you get a reasonable 5-window for say $32,000? Nothing fancy, but not a wreck? I was thinking of starting a thread on this today, but maybe I'll find the answer here?
