  1. Saw this in JustplainJ's thread on the LARS.

I always liked the car. Anyone know what it's in for now?

  4. Looking at the pics, it almost looks like it is taped up either for paint or a buff/clean up. I know the car doesn't really fit the HAMB guidelines, bit I have always loved that car.

That car was a game changer, I think it's stood the test of time very well.

  6. I had heard it got paint damaged when it went to Goodwood, the insurance dragged the chain and finally it was being repaired at So Cal.

  10. We saw it at So-Cal in January when we were visiting with Jimmy....

I have about 10 copies of that issue....only one without the poster. That is THE BADDEST CAR OF ALL TIME.

Someone has go to know why the car is partially torn down at So-Cal, give it up...................we WANT to know. This little trot down memory lane is fine but lets answer the question that started this thread.:(

All right Frank. Looks like the front clip came loose. It's in for sheetmetal tightening.

  15. That car did a lot to bring customs back into the general gearheads view of things. I applaud HRM in the mid 80s for helping keep customs alive.

    I love that car.

Never seen it in person though.

Didn't it get a refresh with new interior a few years back?

Billy Gibbons is almost always at the LARS SO-CAL party so it stands to reason that if it needed some work ... So-Cal would get the call.

My roadster went to Japan in a container with Cadzilla, I was more worried about the Cad!

  19. As stated above, I was told it got some damage to the front end when it went to England and it is being repairs.

It is really a landmark car for the era. I got to work on it a bit when it was first being built at Boyd's.

I saw it at the Peterson Museum once years ago. That was the first significant custom that I saw in person and got me to start looking at both old and new customs again with a new appreciation.

  21. I saw this car up close and personal along with HogZilla when they were brought to the Street Machine Nationals in the Buffalo area years ago.

All I could do was stare.

Man this is really a work of art and I'm not saying that because of the ZZ Top connection. Truely a tastefully done custom.

I have always loved that car. I liked the poster from the magazine but I preferred the back side of the poster for the build pictures.

I got the book "Pete & Jakes". In it, they discussed the purpose of Cadzilla. It was built to run at Bonneville, but instead went on Americruise. It would be bad ass to see it run at Bonneville.

Didn't Craig Naff do most of the metal work before leaving Boyd and moving back to Virginia?

FWIW I give credit to Larry Erickson, not Boyd.
