Just curious as to what happened to them. They sure had humble beginnings, kind of interesting to hear what happened to such a good start.
Was it just the Big Three closing in on market share that left them packing?

Diamond T's today sure have a cult like following.

I believe in the late 40's early 50's, they merged with REO trucks, then in the mid 60's they were bought up by the White Motor Company. And becan Diamond Reo, White bought AutoCar, and was also a distributor of Frieghtliner and western star. In the 80's white became insolvent, Volvo purchased the US assets, and Western Star Purchased the Canadian portion. The last thing with a White name was a serier of Lawn and Garden tractors, built by MTD but branded by White.

Same old story, they were built up to a standard, everybody else built down to a price. And where are they now?
The hell of it is, it's still happening with all this Chinese crap flooding the market.

White bought REO in '57, Diamond T in '58 and merged the two lines into Diamond REO in '67.
