Loose the skirts and drive the heck out of it. My grandfather had one brand new that was a copy of this one, some good memories for the 56.

I would put gas in it, roll down the windows, hang an elbow out the drivers side and just ride around town. Looks great as it sits, imho.

Lower it a bit, chrome head light bezels, not eyebrows, maybe french the lights and antenna, channel the hood ornament, remove the little trim peace on the skirts, restore or replace the steering wheel with one of the same vintage, give the interior a little run through. Remove the fairlane badges on the sides of the car. Just little mods, can really make a car stand out. Keep the whites, i dont know why but those cars look strange with all black tires.

Hambone64, I took the same 4dr and nosed, decked, dropped it, radiused the frt wheel wells, kept the skirts and white walls. I ran a 351C & Auto only because I had a low mileage setup in the corner of the shop. I'm in Yuma, Az this week but if you want to see some pics of the body after the mod work I'll send them to you when I get home. Like most on here said drive the crap out of it as is while collecting the pieces to what mods you want.

  17. Perfect!!

  18. Were it up to me, I would paint it in a correct 2-tone layout with white against the existing color...put a set of stock caps (or any full hubcap) and lower it a couple inches...

Looks boring all one color to me...

Don't do anything that will keep you from driving it!
