A rodded 38 Ford coupe, monza red, hot 351 4V Clevo, top loader 4 speed, nine inch rear. It has been a Hot Rod since the 60s, re-built a few times, last in the late 70s and is a family heirloom. It still in the family, oddly enough it went backwards to my father. There is a LOT of fond memories in that car, I hope it stays in the family.

I can top all those...1986 Toyota Elegante Minivan!!!, it was a hand me down, but to me it was like a multi-passenger street legal golf cart, Gold with brown striped (for added speed i figure) and the massive 4cyl. right under the driver seat...who needs a hood when you have a cloth seat!!!....Traded it for hamburger... I think I got the better end of the bargain. (I couldnt convince the dude to also throw in the malt though)

I got a 63 Impala SS 283/glide car when I turned 15 in 1985. Bought it from the original owner and it had about 100,000 miles on it. I built a nice little 327 and found a 4 speed for it, but my Dad wouldn't let me swap them in until the 'glide finally gave up the ghost. So everyday when I left school I'd throw it up in neutral, rev that little 283 until the windshield was about to pop out and dump it into low. That poor old 'glide just wouldn't die, kinda like the energizer bunny it just kept going and going and going. The day I drove it out to our shop to pull the motor it was still going. It only had one gear by then, kinda all over the place, but it still pulled....just barely....

Still got it today and wouldn't take a million bucks for it!

My first ride in the mid '70's was a white '68 Camaro with a manual drop top. Only paid 600 for it. I sold it to a freind of mine in'79 and he still has it. We still keep in touch. :)

Mine was either a Fiat 124, square 4 door box with a huge steering wheel, or a wrecked 1975 Dodge Colt that my dad hammered the ass end out enough so the trunk would close. Neither lasted very long. First real car that I had was my 72 Chevelle Malibu 2 door. Primered right front fender, peeling vinyl top, rust out on both rear wheel wells, busted dash from someone stealing the AM radio....drove that car for years!

  26. My first car was a '55 ford sunliner. This was about '64. I traded my HO train layout for it.

To this day I wish I had them both. :(
