Non of our guys have a clue to the answer, just some pretty funny wisecracks ...Heres what was posted:

"Since you all have been around so many Hot Rods and cars from the 60's I thought I'd ask what type of tire this was? I heard it's a Mickey Thompson, but haven't seen a tread pattern like this before. Typically would this type of tire be used for Hot Rods/street racers or something else?
Would be curious to hear your thoughts.
    Thanks in advance"

Got this from Drag Racer Magazine Editor Randy Fish :
" might be an early version of the Inglewood Posatraction, produced in Inglewood, California, In the late '60s" ? ?

  3. I dunno, but it looks like it would offer some pretty crappy handling, and I'm sure it would pick up a lot of pea gravel as well.

That looks like some 60s run-flat or no-air technology tire. Barris probably got them from his industry contacts. EVEL here on the HAMB could probably ask George about it.

It was on the Batmobile. Ask George Barris.

Formula One Super Stock tires came out with the design around 1969. I had some brand new ones on my 69 Judge. Mickey Thompson continued to sell the same design after Formula One quit selling tires. They worked great for taking of in a hurry. They were sort of like mud grip tires without the mud.

The closest MT was their I Block tread pattern. I believe they still sell them.

Dino, you're absolutely right! A friend of mine had J-60/14's on the back of his brand new '69 W-30 Olds 442. He said nothing at the time had more bite on the street.
Not so good at Dover, only went mid 13's! LOL!

Just in from one of our resident wackos BUT Paul knows his stuff!:

" Now these are the questions I like........
Those baby's are Mickey Thompson's with the 'Mercede's symbol detail tires'.
Very dangerous in the rain, but would leave 'beautiful' burn-out marks on the asphalt pavement.
Of course, they look nice on 5-spoke 'Rader' cast-alloy wheels.
Next question,,What tires came on Grampa's 'DRAGULA' coffin short-framed rail?????
    Paul,
Hurry up, 'I Dream of Jeannie' is on TV-Land"

Most of you figured out (Forgot to mention), The picture is from 1965 and was the #1 Batmobile's rim/tire.
