Little after hours project i had for awhile. Turned out pretty cool. Always nice starting with old metal that has ZERO rust!

Showstopper. Amazing. If I lived near you, I'd be your yard boy, floor sweeper, garbage man, just to watch you do your thing. Well done!

Thanks for posting Matt. I've been hoping you were going to do a build thread on this car. Beautiful fabrication as always. I hope you took more than 15 pictures during this build! Please post more if you got 'em. I for one would love to see them all. Great Work.

Wonderful transformation! I too would love to know more about the designing and building of your top. Thanks for the pictures.

  13. Quite certain Edsel Ford would approve. "just a little side project" Really?? You are a humble man. Metal finishing is fantastic. And yes, the top is incredible as well. Bravo.
Just watched the episode of Jay Leno's Garage, with the Buick Y-Job. And, as fantastic as this design is, incredible how much different it is, from cars like this Zephyr.

That looks amazing. I hope you are going to give it the shiny paint that a classic luxury car like that deserves.

  16. You certainly have the talent to do it right the first time. I like how you did most of the work with the top still intact, that way you retained the integrity of the project. You only removed the top when it was necessary to complete your transformation.

  26. What can I say besides looks absolutely incredible! Looks great and for "a little side project" you did very well. Your metal working skills forming the panels to patch in are quite impressive. Question on the trunk lid, what is that from? Did the original sedan trunk opening bottom portion need modification? Pictures kind of jumped quick where I am looking to see what you did once the sedan top was removed.

I am soooo envious of skill like yours. That looks as if fomoco could have rolled it off the line.

Beautiful metalwork, and I'd love to see more in-progress shots of it, I'm especially curious to know what pieces you used to build the windshield frame and posts, and also where you were able to source the trunklid.

Not personally a fan of the faux paintjob, but to each his own, it's still a fantastic custom car buildout, especially starting with a 4 door sedan.
