Stumbled across this car today while buying a couple 50 ford pickups. I'm 45 years old and I don't ever remeber seeing one of these plymouths. what year is it. does anyone know anything about these. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/067chevy/DSCF0641.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/067chevy/DSCF0642.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/067chevy/DSCF0644.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/067chevy/DSCF0645.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/067chevy/DSCF0643.jpg
It's a 61 Plymouth alright. Spent too much time with one a long time ago that was a gift to my niece.
Thanks, for some reason I can't get pictures to come up. But I thought it said plymouth on it some where. we looked at a hundred old cars and trucks and bought 4 of them for now.
I once had a 61 Polara, which was the same car; different front clip. Incredibly rugged, pushbutton torqueflite, 8 3/4 rear, BB 361. Ugly but cool.
well I was thinking of buying it and parting out. I can get it for scrap price. To bad the top got crushed though. I kinda like it
Awww, get in it, push up with your feet...it come back out. A few licks with a BMF hammer will straighten the trim on it...'61's are rare these days cuz they were ugly then...matter of fact they still are...!!! R-
i use to have a 61 polara 383 dualquad cross ram 4spd car with swivel out bucket seats. it had some cool tail lights in it
Looks like all the hard parts that someone would want are either gone or ruined. The front fender stainless and headlight rings are a bastard to find without any dings in them. Taillights are a good item if they're not rotted out. Some of the dash stuff is sellable.
Yeah, that's a '61 Plymouth alright. Back in the day I detailed cars for small dealers at home. I had one for a shuttle car for about 2-3 months. Couldn't wait for the dealer to give me something else and put that ugly thing on his lot. Geez that thing was butt ugly.( pink and white).........
I see the front bumper sticking out of the car from the inside. If it has the front bumper guard on it, I'll give you good money for it. I need one for my '60 and apparently the 60-61 front bumper guards are the same. If you go back and check it out, please let me know.
My school teacher had a new one. It was nothing but a huge problem for him allways breacking down. It rusted out real bad in about 4 years. So he was not a happy camper. I allso remember that the police used them the OPP police that is.
That is so odd and ugly, it is super cool. Mostly the roof is the worst part. Luckily it is crushed, so good reason to cut it off and make it into an old school drag roadster. I would pop a 354/392 hemi in it, sneak the exhaust out behind the front wheel wells, lower it down some and add some early drag wheels/rubber and hit the road.
That car is NOT ugly, it just takes some imagination. That car would be perfect for someone like DeAgostino or Zocchi, and wouldn't take a lot to turn into a real show stopper.
