I picked up a set of roundback spindles, that had the steering arms cut off. No big deal as there are many bolt on arms available. I cleaned them up to put in new kingpins and got to looking at them . The arms that were cut off appear to have been on the upper boss, not the lower, and the grease zerks are in a different spot. So, what do I have here?
Crankhole nailed it. Very early 1928 only, and AFAIK the only one to have the back side center-drilled to aid the factory machining.
UPDATE: They are early A or AR spindles ==== NO! They are not early Model A, the A spindles had removable steering arms. I can see were the top arms were cut off, were there any arms on the bottom? Bob
There were no top arms cut off, but the bosses where the top arms were bolted on have been removed. Another thing to verify them for the OP is the diameter of the backing plate holes, Model A will be 3/8”. Granted, they could have been drilled to 1/2” to adapt hydraulics.
Ok, Looking at this photo I can see a small section of the steering arm hole around the untapped grease hole, they must be early A or what some call AR parts. Guess I should have studied things a bit closer before my first post. Bob
