I got a tank out of a 83 Monte Carlo in my 52 chevy truck. The sending unit and the factory gauge won't work together but I don't know the ohm range or what gauge to get so it'll sink up and function correctly. Anybody help me out?

  2. pre `65 GM cars used a sender that had a range of 0 ohms empty and 30 ohms full. after that they are 0 ohms empty and 90 ohms full

you will have to either change the sender to match the gauge , or the gauge to match your sender

I believe most newer gm metric cars are 0-90 ohms.
