what motor mounts do i use - I have a 1953 customline with a 302/C4 and the motor mounts are toasted. I don't think they are correct either. I am not sure what model ford the engine came from. does anyone know the best motor mounts to use??????? or is it all based on how the engine was put in? I am new to this game
Hopefully the builder used a stock Ford motor mount so all YOU have to do is take on eout and go to the auto parts store and match it up in the Motor Support Illustrated Catalog. Factory mounts are always the best mounts. Strong, vibration dampening, and usually available at any parts store if one fails on a trip after 10-15 years of service.
these are pictures of the drivers side. it looks like it is labeled a right side mount so i don't know if it is the correct one but this is what is in there now.
I had hard time getting a picture of the passanger side mount - there isn't much there either - I think it is torn and hanging off but this is what I got
hard to tell for sure, but looks like a pretty weak set up for an engine mount. when on Speedway, or wherever, site look for better mounting system.
32 to 48 Ford flathead mounts and can be bought through napa, the mount kit I used to put the 351 in my 55 uses the same.
