what motor mounts do i use - I have a 1953 customline with a 302/C4 and the motor mounts are toasted. I don't think they are correct either. I am not sure what model ford the engine came from. does anyone know the best motor mounts to use??????? or is it all based on how the engine was put in? I am new to this game

Hopefully the builder used a stock Ford motor mount so all YOU have to do is take on eout and go to the auto parts store and match it up in the Motor Support Illustrated Catalog.

Factory mounts are always the best mounts. Strong, vibration dampening, and usually available at any parts store if one fails on a trip after 10-15 years of service.

Post some pictures of the old mounts, someone here will be able to tell you what they are.

these are pictures of the drivers side. it looks like it is labeled a right side mount so i don't know if it is the correct one but this is what is in there now.

  7. Those are old Hurst biscuit style mounts. Places like Speedway and others can supply them.

hard to tell for sure, but looks like a pretty weak set up for an engine mount. when on Speedway, or wherever, site look for better mounting system.
