I've recently obtained a French Flathead (complete motor) and It hasn't run since being completed and test run in 1990. I don't know much about flatheads and would like this thing put right before it goes in my car. Who's got lots of experience in Central Texas?

    Thanks guys

I don't know if he's still around but the guy for that motor would be Larry at Performance Machine. He wasnt the cheapest guy but he knows vintage motors.

Larry is no longer with performance machine. He sold it and it has moved to Elgin. The machinist that worked for Larry moved with the shop, his name is Mike. They may not be the cheapest but do great work. Not sure how much flathead work they do but might be worth a phone call.

if it has been stored correctly after completion, you could always open it up and take a look inside. if it rotates and has been stored well there is no reason why it shouldnt run again.

I just had my block bored and cam bearings installed at Travis Engine Center. He did a great job down to the .000 (I double checked) and called me when it was done (3 weeks) Yep...he called me!! David is the owner and knows his way around vintage motors. He is a little chatty;). Also, I have a pressure tester if you want to check your block before you take it to him. PM me.
