I bought this over the weekend from a guy who had it it for years because he thought it was neat, now I have it because I think its neat and would like to use it somewhere?????
Does anyone know ''what it is'':confused The best guess I have heard is it could be a breather off of a brake system on a large truck. It is marked Lang and is made in Canada.

Looks like a different version of a Empi breather.

    Edit.

    Yep.

Do a Google Search for Lang breather box.

Useble on a Hot Rod as well.

I milled the top of the box flat on a Empi box, fitted the top with a gasket, welded up the holes in the side, and drilled new ones in the front, milled the Empi logo off the top and fitted a small Moon breather.

    Works really well.

Those are breathers to handle vapor off the valve covers on VW engines

    Yes.

Blowby was really bad on the first blown engine.

    This took care of it.

It had a breather tube coming off each valvecover and one on the filler tube ( intake mounted )

That makes sense. When you start shoving extra air down the throat of an engine some of can sneak by the rings. Good way to solve it.
