If I could afford to build my 55 Pontiac the way it looks in my head, that would be my dream car. #2 a 56 nomad custom. #3 a 56 F100 custom. #4 a 57 ranchero custom.
Maybe not really a HAMB worthy car as its not a rod, but my dream car is a 1954 Oldsmobile Super 88 convertible. My first car was a '54 Super 88 sedan; wish I still had it. Same color and all:
33-34 Dodge or Plymouth coupe Taildragger 40`s style build. I have a deluxe dash with the ashtray and have a strong lead on a body. You gotta think outside the box.
Pic from Richard Owen, Barrowed from google. 1937 Cadillac Fleetwood stationary coupe V16. Full Kustom taildragger!
I have my '55 Chevy truck, and it is the same one that gave me that dream in 1985 as a ten year old kid climbing all over the neat old truck Dad just towed home. I wouldn't trade that truck for anything in the world. Wouldn't mind a '59 Imperial. Been lusting after one for years. The wife, however, wants a '70 Chevelle LS-6 454.
Car is looking great Brandon!!! I think this is my favorite version for sure. What are those caps off of?
I can tell you that it is not anything modern.... and beyond that who knows. I admire cars. I admire the people who designed them. Cars are mechanical art, and each of us here aspire to be either stewards of that art, or engage in the artistic process ourselves. Cars are about noise and vibration, speed and texture, all in a big paint chrome and steel package. Every motor has a different sound, every driver a different shift pattern, every combination unique. Man, I love cars, boats, motorcycles, tractors, anything that moves that has an internal combustion engine. I have thousands of dream cars. I've even owned some of those dreams.
I have a lot of dream cars I would love to own..but two I can think of would have to be '32 Buick Vicky '34 Ford 5 window coupe
I like this idea as well only I would have a channeled 5w......and weight 20 pounds less so I could be comfortable in it! I will say that even though a '32 5w is my all time favorite, I have been dreaming a lot about the '33 3w with it's 59a flathead, 2x2 Weiand intake, Denver heads, 39 trans, 17" wires, home made quickie and a beat to shit brown leather interior. That style is more up my ally but I do love early 50's styled hot rods as well. Just jonesing for a prewar or immediate post war car real bad. Lastly my '35 is better then my dream cars because it's real and almost ready to put some miles on. So in that respect I'm stoked more about that car then the possibility of ever having any other!
Thanks JJ, they are some old Lyons 16" wheel covers. I've been going for the late 50's era look and after watching the video that DDD posted of a 1959 car show in Lynwood I decided to give them a try and put the wide whites back on.
Yeah it looks better then ever with those on!!!! Totally looks like a cover car from R&C during the late 50's. I love it!!!!! My '35 styled after a similar time circa 1958 but it's definitely missing caps like that. We really should get your car, my car and Bleed's truck together for a little photo-session one day. I think that would be pretty cool.
Yea, lost myself there for a minute, but it was a nice one with a lot of period parts, Olds J2, Lasalle trans, Halibrand QC, etc.
I would have to say my 53 business coupe is my dream car, with a few more mods like chopped top and air bags though. Owning the "California Kid" wouldn't be so bad either. Beautiful car Mikem
If you're gonna go gremlin I know where a Levi edition gremlin is sitting. It still has its denim upholstery in it.... Well what's left of it.
