Technical What is this wheel?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Dec 19, 2022.

  1. The car that the wheels are on is the 1966 Chrysler Imperil - Green Hornets Black Beauty custom car, I know the car itself is off topic and that's why no photo of the car is shown but I find the wheels very unique, are they one off our something that was readily available back in the 60's? 4. Not to kinda change the subject or anything, but the Black Beauty from the Green Hornet Movie Serials was most definitely HAMB friendly.:cool::cool:

    WHAT IS THIS WHEEL?

Hard to keep clean is what it is. All those ribs would be a nightmare on a car that was actually driven....

Bet those would look good on a Buick with finned aluminum brake drums...

  9. I bet a stiff bristle brush and purple power or what ever it's equivalent is in Australia would make it a simple task, Personally I like steelies and poverty caps, they are super easy to keep clean. HRP

Looks like there is a difference between the Appliance brand and the Hollywood brand. Appliance has more finning and different shape on spokes

They're not any heavier than a Torq Thrust or slot mag wheel..

I am digging those wheels! To me, they are screaming for some Dominion Royal Masters.

My brother had this kind of wheel on his 1955 Chevy.

Wow, that tire is neat! Are Dominion tires an old Canadian brand?

Yes. The Dominion Tire Company produced tires in Kitchener, Ontario from 1914 to 1966, at which time the company name changed to Uniroyal. Uniroyal later merged with B.F. Goodrich in the 1980's.

    Thanks!
So they were actually originally made in Berlin!
(The name was changed to Kitchener because we were mad at the Germans after their first try at taking over the world).
