Been looking online for something similar so that I can identify this tool. I’m thinking it’s a knife sharpener. It’s spring steel wire with 2 stones.
Hi.. As the grip is designed to hold them together with tension and not to squeeze and open them then some kind of sharpening hone makes some sense. Perhaps knife or sizzors? jimmie
Depending on how big it is. Some brake lathes come with something similar for turning brake rotors. You mount the disc, set up the cut then it clips on the disc right above the cutters and just rides there as it turns. It's to keep the noise chatter down. That's what it reminds me of.
I've seen that thing on a brake lathe, but the stones were flat, not rounded. google marble razor sharpener and you'll find something close, but different.
I don't know what its called or used for but I saw some for sale in the "Pleasures" specialty shop when I was buying my purple edible speedo.
Without knowing much about anything I'm going to say it's used for sharpening a hollow ground knife blade...
