I saw a post looking for a passenger side clutch fork bellhousing for a chevy, i picked one up a long time ago and dug it out last night to get a few pictures and realized it is not a standard chevy V8 bolt pattern. can you guys help me out and tell me what it fits? I thought that it was for a 60-62 4x4 as that was the only thing i knew of that had a hyd slave on the pass side. is this just the 6cyl pattern? thanks for the help
beats me! looks like it might fit the nailhead (they used the 322 in chevy 80 series trucks in the late 50s). But I think the hydraulic clutch went into use in 1960, the year after they quit using the 322. not a pontiac, not a GMC V6, not a Chevy 6 or 8, so I'm stumped. looks like it's for a truck though, the way it mounts to the crossmember. Chevy/gmc used that mount style from 55-72
don't recognize the block bolt pattern, but the other end looks like it's drilled for virtually everything.
looks ALOT like the bell on my '59 vintage 318 poly.. in a D100 pickup. right down to the mounting ears and slave cylinder mount location.
GMc used Pontiac motors in everything with a V8 through the late fifties and early sixties. Just a wild guess, but that's my thought.
