I saw this chassis for sale on CL and I don't know what it is from? The owner says he has no idea of make.

Yep.. Rail frame sprinter! Good find. Need to know when it was built. A lot of those have been built over the years and are still being built. If in the case it is an original car that has been taken apart it's a "Jackpot" find... Get it, and start the long task of researching it and finding the history. ANY old car that was actually raced has value. If it was built at some other time, it's still a good score. $1700 isn't a bad price for everything there. The Knobby tires are $600 new or original.. The Wires look like actual race wires, like Ruge or Daytons.. Another good find!! Is it out west by you?

Is it an aluminum center section on the banjo or is the lighting just weird?

Man somebody needs to buy that up now!
Its hard to tell from the pic but to me the torque tube looks to be well below where the torque tube would normally be = quick change

  22. So like $1600 worth of wheels, at least $1200 worth of tires, possibly a QC rear worth ??? plus the springs, axles, frame rails. It's not worth offering the guy $1200, $1500, and trying to flip? That's how I find money to put into cars.

If that was within a days drive of me it would be sitting in my shop tomorrow. Wonder if one of Shaw's fiberglass bodies would fit? If so, instant fun machine.

I was trying to get some better photos from the seller and was out of town at Columbus. Called again today and it has been sold. Did someone here buy it? It has some sort of body too that was off to the side.

Yup, I picked it up on Saturday. Looks like it was never completed (not enough holes in the rails), lots of great old parts: 5 original Dayton knockoff wires with really nice hubs, Model A quickchange (very wacky, don't see many Model A units around anymore), drilled A front axle, etc. Tires look NOS, rears are knobbys on goodyear carcasses, fronts are old ribbed.

Body was a fiberglass Bantam drag car, never part of this chassis.

    Definately a fun toy!

Thanks, you saved me from myself because I would have most likely brought that home.
