I'd bet even money that was the "just bought it and brought it home for the first time" photo. That scratch on the photo over the chrome strip on the rear door had me looking for one with a "Rocket" on the chrome for a few minutes but the size of the rock shield on the back door says 50. Hubcaps were the first thing that says Olds though. Dad had a 53 Super 88 two door post that I really liked when I was young but too young to drive that he traded for a 57 super 88 4 door hardtop that was jet black with a J-2 Tri power in it. If someone is in a Visit with Gene Winfield ask him if he remembers trying to trade a guy with a black 57 Olds out of the tri power carb setup in 1962. I am pretty sure it was his shop we stopped at in the summer of 1962 while on a road trip.

My mom's first car in the 60's - an Olds 88 4 door dad found. I would guess the cheapest automatic he could find as - that's what she learned to drive in at the driving school - as he had given up on her ever getting her license. She did at 40yrs plus and with 5 kids....than came the station wagons !
Wow, I didn't know the name of this model. Once I saw this old model in my city, I didn't notice what the brand looked like. I like this beautiful car. I tried to find her here https://sizedly.com/, but I never saw the same model. This surprised me very much, as I thought I knew all the models of these old cars. This is truly my love, and I do not believe that any modern cars will not convey the same atmosphere as the cars from the fifties. I hope that there are still old cars in the world in such good condition, which I do not know about.
