If money was no object I'd go with a blown 409 Chev!
I think a NOVI would be nice. Maybe Tom Malloy will adopt me.
425 ci nailhead with Hilborn electronic injection
hilborn injected 301 sbc
A 268 flathead 8 with dual carbs out of a pontiac. Had a chieftain, so I know the beauty of a flattie.
How about a little ole 358" ? Runs in excess of 10,000rpm, 168 mph. Please note, single 4 barrel carburetor.
Just got word from the crew that this engine propelled Jeff Lane, (Hancock and Lane Racing) to a new national record in Boise over the weekend. With two fours on this already fast machine, it recorded a 7.94 e.t. @ 171 mph.
Id have to say the 394 olds because they got balls for days and they sound mean!!!!!!!
Those valve covers are above all when it comes to cool
Come on guys, there are more of ya....
here is my 331 dragstar hemi
Ok,I know it's not traditional but can you imagine one of these in an old hotrod? I've wanted one of Sonny's engines as long as I can remember, seeing him doing 4 wheel drive burnouts at my Dad's work in his suburban didn't help, and that's back when his biggest engines where just getting close to 700 ci. I should start a fund, only 110K.
My first choice would have to be a cadillac flathead if i had the money and could round up all the speed parts for one. Heck id take a stock one if i could find one. My next choice would be any one of the other old v8's already mentioned i could get my hans on and could find all the shinny parts for. Execpt a small block chevy! Did anybody say DeSoto hemi yet?
You'd have a hard time besting a blown hemi with all the right vintage stuff !
I seen a guy with a 413 cross ram in a Model A coupe. The carbs set right behind the headlights.
Any of the early hemis!
Kinda partial to DOHC Studebakers myself...
Couldn't help myself, put a Nailhead in my 30 coupe.
Any Desoto hemi but a 345 Desoto hemi with hilborn setup would be tops for me!
I understand your obsession, 401 in my 40 Ford pickup.
Wow, that is beautiful. What are your plans for cleaning up the wiring?
How about a Packard mill? I thought this had cool just oozing out of it-would love to have it in my car.
Wow, very nice. Nailheads are my fav., especially when they're blown.
What exhaust are those? In a 32?
Cross Rams are way cool too
Any hot rodded Caddy V16s out there?
I'm kinda partial to these myself.
I would LOVE to see someone make their own Gentry-Lewis T V8 (I think they have one at the Ford Museum) and put it in a '26-'27...
X2, the big Packards with chromed script valved covers look REALLY good.
Separate names with a comma.
