It's hard to tell in the original pics I posted, but at some point someone riveted a piece of sheet aluminum to the top & painted it to match. It actually looks really good & kind of adds to the coolness of the car. There's literally no rust or body damage. All the fenders look really good. I didn't bring a battery but the engine turns over with the hand crank & isn't stuck.

[IMG] That one lived in South America, don't walk away, RUN. For what you plan to build buy the body with the crap chassis for $4,800, and start spending and building from there. Bob

From the pics, I don't think you can lose with this car. I'm with the previous poster who suggested starting with the best car you can. There is going to be enough work to make it into your dream car without having to wade your way thru missing parts, patch panels, rust, bad alignments and so on. Congratulations! You did well with this one. To paraphrase Will Rogers, they ain't mak'n them 30's and 31's any more.

  18. Guys read the whole thread. The story is done. The value of this particular start of project is set. Maybe Josh should make this into his build thread, but change the title.
My advice after buying it Josh, make it and drive it.

That’s a scam. Same thing happened to me last week. Husband died, her and son moved. Didn’t want to set up a day / time for me to see the car as she got stood up at last appointment. Working as a nurse, couldn’t take off work. Wanted me to pay for the car site unseen and have it shipped to my house. Lol. I can’t believe people fall for that nonsense.

  24. This question is getting old as its the most common one asked monthly but with that said I'm going to throw out my $8500 as my opinion.

Hey guys. I bought a new battery today. Installed it, pushed the clutch in, hit the starter button & she turned over a bunch of times. Time to get some fresh fuel, change the oil, flush the radiator/add coolant, then see if I can get her to fire up. You guys have any other suggestions or things I should do before attempting to start her up? Also, how should I handle or go about cleaning the gas tank.
Thanks for everyone's help & suggestions.
    Josh

Also should I change the title of this thread or just leave it as is?

  29. Change the title. Check for fuel coming in, then check for a spark ⚡️
