Customs what hood will fit

i have a 52 merc but i dont like the hood what would fit i was thinking ford ?

 

Fom what I remember, the merc hood goes all the way down to the grille opening while the ford doesn't. Is there something you absolutely hate about the merc hood? I always thought they were way more classy.

 

yes most of the 52 -54 mercs either have the bird or scoop or with teeth i wanna change it up a bit

I have a 53 ford and the hood is different on the front (where the latch is) and the Lincoln is a tad different also. Maybe you could find a donor hood like a ford 52-53 or something similar or that you might like and cut the center out and weld it in place of the scoop part on the merc hood. Just a thought but you would want to be careful welding a big flat panel like that.

 

i was thinking of flatening the hood and trying a differant style scoop any ideas

I think this is where he starts to change the hood. Just follow that thread...it is a GOLDMINE of inspiration!

 

You might be able to get a Lincoln hood 52-55 to fit..
