    I bought it off Ebay and I would like suggestions. That would be should I run 2x2, 3x2 or 6x2 maybe 2 4's ( TUNNEL RAM?). Let’s hear it guys what do you think I've got my ideas lets hear yours.
    Oh it's going in a 27 Dodge sedan or a 34 Ford coupe.<!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shapetype id="_x0000_t75" coordsize="21600,21600" o:spt="75" o:preferrelative="t" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" filled="f" stroked="f"> <v:stroke joinstyle="miter"/> <v:formulas> <v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"/> </v:formulas> <v:path o:extrusionok="f" gradientshapeok="t" o:connecttype="rect"/> <o:lock v:ext="edit" aspectratio="t"/> </v:shapetype><v:shape id="_x0000_i1025" type="#_x0000_t75" alt="" style='width:12pt; height:12pt'> <v:imagedata src="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\Shelton\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtml1\01\clip_image001.gif" o:href="http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif"/> </v:shape><![endif]--><!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->
    If you've seen my other posts I also have a Ford flatty 337 that was going in the Dodge but I thought I'd keep it real with the Hemi and the Ford w/ Ford.:cool:

    Congrats. That motor's gonna rip it up. If you're going to run stock compression I'd go with 3x2. Looks killer and will be (a little) easier to tune then 6x2's. Of course Bass's coupe is bitchin with 4x2's....

    Depends if you're going for efficientcy or looks. A single 4 bl is best. 2X4, 2X2, 3X2, 4X2 will all work. Tunnel rams work best on the strip. 6X2 tends to be a pain.

    The cheapest & probably the most effecient is the hotheads single four but it depends on what look you are after. The multi carb intakes can really run away with your wallet but look the best.... jmo

    What year is your 331? Here's my '53 – even the longbells can work!

  10. I run Two - Fours on my 331, it's a '54 with '55 354 heads. It has an Edmunds 2x4 intake with Carter WCFB's and Hemi truck exhaust manifolds. Makes pretty good power.

    I think that two fours are easier to maintain and just look right homey on the top of a big Hemi!

    331's had factory twin fours ( heavy cast iron manifolds) and there was even a factory twin four manifold in alloy .This was one I had on my own 331 ( 121mph in first on the salt..yes they do go ) it was designed for WCFB's ,which are too small in my opinion for a hemi to make real power. And they require a lot of expertise to make them run right.There were also two different carbs,a front one and a back one.

  18. I ran four Strombergs till this winter. She's got a 671 and two sixties Pontiac AFB's now. I ran mid thirteens with the Strombergs and got pretty fair mileage with the progressive linkage. Can't wait for the HAMB drags to see what the blower will do.

  20. Thanks man. No matter what the rest of us tell you, build the engine your way.

    BTW If you were closer I'd be very tempted to buy that 337 from ya! That'd make and interesting HA/GR car.

    Yeah that 337's not for sale. Now that I've got the Hemi I'll take my time and build it and have fun with it who knows where it'll end up for now in a 34 coupe. Something like this
