    TONS of different cars/trucks!

When I was a kid in the early 60's, he had a Model A. And a '47 Packard Clipper. And the truck I learned to drive around the farm on, a '36 Ford 3/4 ton panel truck. A '37 Packard 115 sedan. A '40 Packard 110 sedan.

Then he bought a brand new Checker in 1965. I ended up driving that one to high school in the 70's.

1956 Ford lowered with spiner caps. Then Mustang fastbacks and Fairlanes. Some he still has and I love all his stories...Man I miss being a kid sometimes...

He drove my Mother to divorce and me up a wall.
My step dad however, gave me his car when I was in H.S....mint, black with red and white tuck and roll interior, 2dr ht 1956 Mercury Monterrey. This was in 1964. He gave it to me because it had a serious knock in the bottom end, and he just bought a brand new $3600.00 '64 Tempest custom. It broke his heart, he LOVED that car. I took it to auto shop and took it apart and found the problem. A broken flywheel plate. Got a new (used) one at the junk yard for like .50 and put it in with my fingers crossed. Problem solved! Showed the old man and I swear I've never seen someone so pissed...I thought for a moment he was going to want to trade me that Pontiac for his Merc back.

My Dad's first vehicle was a moped in Hawaii. When he got to the mainland of California in 1964 he bought a '62 Falcon Convertible. Later a '68 Torino Fastback, followed by a 70 Dodge R/T. He kept that car up until he had me. My mom made him give it up for a new 4 door Granada, which was family friendly. He still reminds me on my Birthday every year. I've got to find him another '70 R/T someday.

  16. I came home from the hospital in 57, in Dad's green 55 Chevy(4dr:eek:). He moved up in 59 to a 59 Fairlane Galaxie 500 Convertible, White over red--man, what a car! I used to stand up in the back seat when we rode around with the top down. He traded it off in 61 to get Mom a 59 T-Bird, which stayed in the family til 72. Cool cars just aren't my father's thing, as he drove junk thru the 60s--56 Ford 4 dr, 61 BelAir wagon, 62 Caddy 4 dr., 66 Caddy 4 dr, 68 Vista Cruiser---whatever he drove was Mom's hand-me-downs. Today he's rolling in a Cadillac SRX with chrome 22's

  17. my dad had a myriad of cars but the ones i remember were a green 57 pontiac 2 door hardtop, a turquoise and white 55 bel air 4 door, a green 65 impala , a yellow and black 70 charger 500, and he had a primered 55 chevy hardtop that supposedly was a hot car that he sold then bought back after the guy he sold it to blew the engine and then he parted it out i remember helping him remove the doghouse from it i was at most 7 at that time

My Dad's first car was a black 1962 Mercury Meteor. He saved some money and dropped in an early K code 289/T10.

When I was born in 61, my Dad had a 32 three window coupe, black, full fendered with a 283. He let it get away from him a few years later so when I came up with one about 10 years ago, I built it to look like his. He's now got a 33 three window, 34 five window, 36 five window, three window and roadster, 31 model A and chopped 51 Merc.

61 Impala ss 409 convertable then in 68 he bought a new chevelle special ordered with a L79 327, muncie 4 spd and a 4.11 12 bolt posi. I remember riding in the passenger seat at 8 or 9 years old and him powershifting the small block to redline, thats what got me hooked on hotrods.

My dad has had quite a few cars, Here's my dad and his 50 Ford Coupe, someone had run a light and hit him. Why it has a darker colored front clip. The flathead was tired, so he seen an ad for a Chevy v-8, went to see about it and it was a 348. He put that in it that was 58-59. The other pic is about the same time with Mom & Dad infront of the Channeled model A coupe him and his brother built. He bought an entire coupe for $45, pulled the body and sold the rest for the same amount. My uncle scrounged up a 32 chassis and they mated the two. Eventually sold the car and had heard it was lter chopped and migrated to New York state.
