Started to design the shape of the body for my roadster using flat steel banding strap. Once I like the shape I'll cover it with paper and that will be the basic pattern to cut the sheet metal.
cleaned out all the shit i stored in my 49 dodge , damn it was like christmas , amazing how much stuff i accumulate....parts is parts...lol
I took the only plastic parts on my 1956 olds and repaired them...they are the plastic seat skirts and plastic lower pillar covers..oh and got ready to put on ebay today a pair of lower 98 olds backup light chrome trim and spears
Welded up clutch actuator lever for trike a friend is building. (Running gear for trike is v8 60 with servi-car rear end.)
What a beautiful day in this area! Fattened up the jets in my Holley on the coupe and took a couple test drives. Power Valve swap next week.
Big deal, I do that almost every day... I re-arranged my "full" parts storage, hung a BUNCH more shit that was on shelfs on nails in the wall, now I can buy more parts.
Well I didnt today, but yesterday, and most of the previous week, I pick and filed the lows and highs out of my Desoto valve covers and filter canister, started sanding and polishing, and got them one step closer to plating...
I got this done today. Passenger side next... ugh, what a pain in the ass! My '27 T Roadster build: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t= 734383
got my M/T valve covers on and had a tiny leak on the left bank between the forward and middle bolts on the bottom. cinched 'em up just a little bit more and the leak went away. steel core valve cover gaskets FTW!
Started building wood side rails for the pickup bed. Kinda fun working with something other than steel.
Started grinding the old finish off my Chrysler coupe till a grinding wheel came apart and nailed me in the gut. Huge friggin bruise now, checked at the time for an entry wound and blood, none, got away lucky. Changed wheels, continued on, lesson learned.
by the way ~ did you know that M/T valve covers are TALLER than FoMoCo SBF stockers??? I didn't. I figured it out and decided I was not going to notch my original generator bracket to clear them so I ordered a rusty, crusty one off eBay ($31 shipped) and notched it in the backyard with an angle grinder. I dig that a lot of folks don't care for generators but I have three that have all been rebuilt and they work great so I keep 'em. they seem to charge our cell phones and iPods quicker too for some reason - weird.
Figured out what parts still need to be ordered for the juice brake conversion on Dad's Model A then fought with my Daughters VW for the last time. It will be for sale or set on fire tomorrow.
You know we are all gonna check back for an update and pictures! Funny I always say I'm gonna do that and never go through with it. Closest I came was an OT 73 car that backfired and burned my hair. I threw the hood on it and sold it that day. Wish I woulda torched it for the memory.
deer hunting early, afternoon made rear shock mount bracketsand run brake lines not alot done but i was happy just getting to work on it.
pissed off the boss at work, cussed out my manager and stirred up a whole pot of shit and then proceded (sp?)to have a nice quite, highly productive and uninterrupted day at work , then came home to a dead horse in the pasture being buried , lovely F^%$#* day
