I was able to pull this old grill out of the shed and prep it to sell...after blasting it and some grinding it turned out to be in pretty good shape
I polished my valve covers and drove around to show off. Then, I sat down and worked out a plan to replace my front shock set up. I'm going with a California Custom Roadster set up. I also started a wish list for a possible cosmetic front axle. I think a forged, drilled and chromed dropped "I" beam is in my future.
More than I can list... but tops of the list would be priming and blocking my firewall and kick panels, got 2 rounds of that done. tomorrow onto the fine stuff, and maybe paint this week!
Tearing down an old house (national folk pre-railroad and post-railroad) 'til I tore a calf muscle, lifting an old upright piano up into another room.
Put a four bolt Factory exhaust manifold on my 354 HEMI just to see how cool it looked. Deck hid handle arrived for the Roadster and it is Perfect, one I've looked for for a good 4 years now. Need to sell more on "that auction site" Bob
Got my headers installed on my Willys, worked on the interior headliner, cleaned up the garage a bit.
Below freezing again today so went out and cleaned the garage some more. Got a cheap deal on some heating oil last week ($1 a liter) so put the heat on and warmed it up to 45F. Went to Canadian Tire to get some new pressure gauges for my air compressor, they wanted too much for them but I did get some new tools on sale, 1/2 drive and 3/8 drive air wrenches and shiny new combination wrench sets, metric and inch sizes.
Fixed a out of round crank pulley problem and banged around on my sons drag car. Oh yea, also bought a set of Pontiac M/T valve covers for my wall off THAT site.
Got another rick of wood for the shop stove stacked ti added a few logs to the fire Sat down snapped a beer & started dreaming about What I Need to get done .Its after 5 here Maybe tommarow I wont have any excuses Larry
Hung the quarters and catwalk for the last time on the t bird I'm working on. Another hour or so on it and I'll be welding the entire back half back together. Been a long haul...........
Advanced the timing to get 19 in of vac the highest I could get, put new springs on the rear coilovers with a higher spring rate. I was at the limits of adjustment and the coupe still bottomed out on a particular spot on the freeway. If there is a spot here there is a spot somewhere else on the road. I don't need a broken shock mount. Put the coupe in a car show at the local advanced auto parts.
Went out to seal up leaking manifold on my binder with some Rightstuff,,,but got sidetracked and sandblasted, primered and painted my 53 Buick,,ya so it's a Hubley,,I did something today..
Primed and painted my grill, bought propane and kero for the garage, changed the harm bal seal on my timing chain cover, coordinated sale of my prior choice of gas tank, welded my front brake hose tabs, coated the wheel wells and watched the Nationwide race. Typical Saturday.
Spent 4 hours today freezing my @ss off at the local u-pull-it. Needed to get some parts for my daughter's O/T car which met a fence a few weeks ago
Early spring cleaning. Rolled the truck outside to clean the garage. Managed to snap a picture of it.
Drove the 33 for a couple of hours. Detailed the rear spring, costed it with Gibbs oil. Installed knobs on the lower door slide locks. Cleaned the crap off the windows from the trim guys. They did a pretty good job, but weren't too careful with the glue. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
