I stopped using the dead-blow hammer.

    It was overdriving.

Switched to a 3lb one, and a block, and finished right up.

Finally got the 36 out of the shop after the first test drive had a fuel pump failure. New pump installed runs good. Customer drove off wishing I would take another one of his car in for repair, had to say no as I am trying to get moved out of this place.

Removed the roadster out of the trailer from last Octobers El Mirage. Loaded up the car trailer with the 2 mini bikes and Rupp Dart Kart I restored.
Put the roadster in the air and added another 4’ light to the outside work area. Busy day.. Now I can work anytime. D9A5A7BB-A027-4CC9-86D4-139A92B1C736.jpeg

Finally got this in the shop and got it running after sitting for 30 plus years. Then wondered what it would look like with a Hemi. A boy can dream can’t he. IMG_2535.JPG

Expensive but I like the stepped 2 bolt clamps. Used them on my OT F150 and dirt track car. Bought them all from Summit. Only time I cut and weld is over the rear axle. If you can use a plumbers pipe cutter its better than a hack saw. It will leave the cut slightly flared in. The joining pipe I flare out with a ball peen hammer and need very little filler rod when welding together. Good luck,

Lately, I have been taking Sundays to organize and improve my shop. So I punched and formed a holder for the live centers, and other tooling that goes in the tail stock of the lathe. The back splash made for the perfect location. Now to tackle the files, and de-burring tools on the other end. IMG_6280.JPG IMG_6281.JPG IMG_6285.JPG IMG_6288.JPG

Summer turned into a 6 month pause after painting my frame and rear end. I've spent the last couple weeks prepping and painting parts and starting to assemble the chassis for my 26 tudor. 20201230_222748.jpeg 20201231_122556.jpeg 20210101_164028.jpeg 20210113_210930.jpeg 20210116_143439.jpeg 20210118_194853.jpeg 20210118_100247.jpeg 20210118_163709.jpeg 20210118_163726.jpeg 20210118_220342.jpeg 20210119_213102.jpeg 20210119_213227.jpeg 20210123_195900.jpeg

  25. Scoured the internet and reached out to some contacts in search of a dual quad intake for a Chrysler B engine. So far no luck...

  26. Dug the hood out of the shed, hauled it up to the garage, put in place, and hooked up the hinges. Even kinda fit; have to get it adjusted a little better and then back to the grille. It is a new '42 hood out of Little Dearborn.

  27. Hahaha, John, that's hilarious! I tried to do the same thing in my front yard with a cut-off top for a 50 Mercury and my wife threw a hissy fit [whatever a hissy fit is] and told me the neighbors already thought I was a junk collector. It would have appeared a Merc was buried in my yard.
BTW, I spent the day shoveling and blowing snow...yech

I bought a 241 Dodge Hemi a few weeks ago and finally had a chance today to start taking it apart to see how good or bad it is. Got as far as getting the heads off and so far am pleasantly surprised at the relatively good condition of the cylinders and the heads. Unfortunately, the crank still won't turn so tomorrow I'll get it on a proper engine stand and take apart the bottom end. I hope I don't find anything to bad that might be keeping it from turning. Fingers crossed....
