Friday night we took the coupe out to the local Friday Night Cruise we were headed to a month or so ago when we got rear ended on the way. Saturday we took a drive down to the beach to catch a buddy who was playing some music at a bar there. I had to take the opportunity to snap a couple of photos. 20201024_160731.jpg 20201024_160820.jpg

After all these years, I finally got a shop lift, and a buddy who has hauled them fully assembled, helped me today. There aren't many things better in life than friends, especially when they have Tractors ! We had to move my COE, to get the lift in the shop, and this was the first time, I got to view it out in the open, in it's nearly completed state. Now I am excited about getting it finished this Winter. And next Summer have the B/SR, 29 RPU in the back, and off to the races. IMG_5657.JPG IMG_5664.JPG IMG_5668.JPG IMG_5658.JPG

Good for you Marty, I wish I had a lift.
With the workload you have maintained over the years it's unfathomable to me that you have never had a lift.

I mounted the coil, installed the gauges and finished plumbing the brake system. Also have the ignition switch wired. Getting close to just needing a motor to hear it run. STUDEBAKER BUILD 004.JPG studebaker build 005.JPG studebaker build 004.JPG

I know how some folks feel about tractor grill shells on cars but the lines of a '49 Oliver just suggested speed. The original had thick horizontal bars. I'm using vertical 3/8" aluminum tubing for mock-up and stainless for the final product. It looks like it's going to work just fine. Took me longer to fabricate the buck and lay out the holes than I thought it would. Still have to come up with a frame to cover the tube ends.

Drug home this $200 trailer, pulled the wheels off to check the brakes and bearings. Put it back together and made this instructional wheel painting video.

Road trip, day three. Changed a broken alternator belt in the rain in a parking lot of an Advance Auto somewhere in Pennsylvania. Belt was only a couple years old at most. How long do they last these days?

I stayed in the house all day, on the Interweb, TV, and took Naps. WE got 14" of snow so I never even opened the door. Oh yea I eat a lot to. Not exciting but it was warm and dry.

It's a vintage air complete kit. I'm sure they have whatever you need. Very good people to work with. Give them a call.

Yesterday and today I built the legs for an eventual frame jig/table. The TIG and I got along pretty well today.

  21. Finished the mock-up of the rear seat riser floor panel in the sedan.
Bought a re-pop panel from Snyders w/out a hump. Covered the hump hole and built some removable boxes to access the upper shock mount bolts as they are above the floor. Still have to tack covers on the boxes

I was restacking the wheel pile and decided to put some old genuine traditional semi-corroding Cragars on the heap in place of the newish Chimericans. Not a big difference but now they match my rear bumper. :)

Tinkered on the 65 Mercury some, found out I had a bad distributor with a couple worn lobes. Four had the correct gap and the other four were less so in went another distributor that checked out.

A picture doesn’t always do good at telling a story but it took 3 weeks to clean, throw away, mostly move stuff out of the way to make room for the 61 corvette. An a extra bonus it I found a model A roadster chassis in the garage under all the stuff! Lol Adjustments.JPG

  30. Put some shift linkage together out of three I had in the junk pile and worked on the controls for the DN2 gear box. This is all used stuff from my stash and other sources so piecing the whole car together has been a fun exercise in creative jerry rigging.
