Rear end housing is all wire brushed. New pinion seal and grease seals are installed. And its ready for paint....

  2. Just did that, brushed on Rustoleum industrial, turned out good enough for me 20190306_121234.jpg 20190306_134104.jpg 20190307_144000.jpg

Wasn't really digging the brown hue of the Rustoleum primer, figured I'd use the left over white from the Henry J but soon realized that it was dried up 6 yrs later. I also thought the primer texture was going to be clingy for road grime so I shot some rattle can clear on it..lol I'm still thinking about that white though, here's no clear.

Thst black turned out nice and shiney! I bet that industrial stuff will wear real nice.

I got a couple of the cast grey metallic rustoleum spray bombs Im gonna try out after I spray on that red oxide primer.....i dont quite have as much faith in the spray bombs as that industrial stuff. We'll see about durability. If I dont like it, I wont buy it again.....

Swapped on an 850 carb and a super sucker spacer (money I payed for that spacer makes me wonder who is the sucker. Lol) to replace the 1050 that I was drowning my poor 430 buick with in the stude. Trying to wring a 10 second time slip out of this old stock 68 Riviera short block with a 490 lift hydraulic cam and some good heads in a 3500 lb. Studebaker. 11.31/117 so far. 22 yrs ago with this shortblock went 13.67/103. Sure has been fun seeing what this old Stude will do. IMG_20190227_145552651_HDR.jpg

Stripped the cloth off the metal door panels for my 37 Chevy p/u and kind of wishing I would have left the cloth on them, they are rougher then I thought they were and it does not look like I will get them done before sunday.

Needed one of these since I moved into our current house a couple of years ago. Just about got everything fabbed up for my new gantry. Have to add braces on the legs today. Gantry fab.jpg Gantry top rail YELLOW.jpg Should have it standing by tomorrow afternoon. Most expensive things on it are the wheels and I got them " buy one get one 1/2 off ". Steel and YELLOW PAINT was left over from some of my old jobs.

Drained the gas tank on my 63. Nine gallons of water and one gallon of ruined gas. Think I have a hole in the top of the tank? Silly question.

You put a sheet metal roof on that like it is and you're not going to be able to get much in it. I mean, the headroom is going to be PRETTY LOW;)

Went to Dr's for annual heart check up, passed but have to do a stress glow in the dark test in a couple weeks to be sure..Will have to fast; arg no diet coke will be a chore!!.Spent rest of day planning for a car port build [I had tried to get one built but all the places that professed the best would only make one to add to one of their buildings! WTF]..Looking up materials and sources, 20 ft PT is exspensive!

I get the nuke stress/treadmill test every 2 years. Every 6 months a blood test and a visit with the doc. We talk NFL, college football and of course the regular check up. Been doing this for nearly 20 years and I look forward to it because I know I'm in good hands. Now 75 and still restoring and building fun cars. A few daily pills and regular check ups keep me moving. Look forward to your tread mill nuke test it will put your mind at ease.

    just sayin'
