Installed a new fuel pump in my wife's 1969 Cutlass convertible. This is a new addition to our car barn. We are the 2nd owners of this all original car from Fresno California. We bought it from an estate with full documentation certifying the millage shown on the speedo at 15,963 real miles. Car has a few small fender dings and a very small amount of paint work. red with white vinyl bucket seats and consol . I have already replaced the radiator all hoses, belts, brakes, fuel lines, tires and fluids. This Oldsmobile was in storage for the last 9 years while they fought over the very large estate with a number of family members.

Fought me every step of the way, but I finally beat it and got the step/rocker and step riser in its final resting place and welded in.....

Also got the bad part of the floor and cab mount removed and cab jacked up and in position to make my patch and new cab mount. I hope this isn't quite as troublesome, but now that I have something stable to weld to, it should be pretty straightforward.....famous last words.... 20180729_231133.jpg

  5. Hope you saved all the original parts. Great score!

Another good day! Max Gearhead assembled these heads and I did a bunch of cleanup on parts. Still a ways to go, but with any luck this Unibody will be on the road by Labor Day weekend.... 20180730_132038.jpg

Been busy cleaning parts, painting the frame and priming wheels. Just have to finish degreasing the engine block and it is ready for reassembly. But tomorrow is floor patching day.

Frame is black now.....primed wheels in the background.. 20180801_123110.jpg

Pulled the gearbox out because it wouldn’t hold in 2nd gear. Had absolutely no idea of the slop in universal joint, - no noise or vibration at all. It was Packed full of grease, so that may have helped.
I’m fairly confident that it wouldn’t have lasted much longer !

  14. Friday I got up at daybreak. killed and processed a 230 pound hog. Then worked on a stuck water pump on a JD tractor. Then Sold my 66 GMC short bed truck. The one with the souped up 6 and powerglide. Today (sat) im going to Doniphan Mo to attend a estate Auction. Old Hoarder like me That collected A lot of cool stuff. I don't actually need anything. I already have more than enough stuff. However since I sold My GMC I do have a pocket full of cash. But I only want bargains. Ive found the profit is made in the purchase. If you buy low enough you can easily sell at a fair profit and still leave room for the next guy. I look before a item sells and decide how much is my limit If I cant by at my price I walk Away. If I have the cash money a bargain always comes along.

  15. Still working on my "temporary" paint booth. It seems to have taken on a life of its IMG_6844.JPG own.

I'll know if I made a mistake by noon tomorrow, but I loaded my car for the local Sunday flea market with a lot of crap I don't want. Going to test that old saying "One mans trash is another's treasure." Bob
